Subtracting with tidy number

This week we were learning to solve problems by equal additions that turn one of the numbers into a tidy number.

E.g 183-68=68+2=70-100=30+80+5=115 if you want to know if your answer is right you add 115 to the

68=60+8 +100+10+5=100+60+160+10=170+5=175+8=183
